Start with the connector URL, it works in Claude web, desktop and mobile, and there's nothing to download. The desktop extension is for Claude Desktop only; pick it if you'd rather the server run locally on your machine, or you're pointing at a dev or self-hosted OpenMerch.
Claude Desktop on macOS or Windows, plus Python 3.11+ and uv installed, the extension launches its server through uv.
Your OpenMerch merchant email and password, either way. The connector only exposes your own merchant data.
